Nipigon Community Quilts

The First Nipigon Boy Scouts Leader Karen MacKenzie's idea for a unique fund raising project.

Quilters: Lynne Wilson and Ava Walter
Karen's idea for a local fundraiser for the local food bank:  Any group or organization could purchase a 'block' for $25  create their own design.  Altogether, 36 blocks were sold bringing the total to $900 for our Nipigon Food Bank in 2001-2002
The Boy Scouts donated the backing fabrics, batting, thread and Curtain rods. Volunteers made the stands.  We applaud the combined efforts of all those who contributed in any way to this very successful project.
